New BSN Instructor: Engaging Students Through Feedback

OVERVIEW: This training offers effective methodology and pedagogy for engaging students through feedback in distance education. Feedback is one of the most critical components of learning. Some of the most impactful aspects of feedback are overlooked when it is approached from a technical standpoint. Providing quality feedback is one of our greatest opportunities to connect with students and communicate with them. It is an opportunity to not only provide students with recommendations for continued growth, but also an opportunity to develop rapport and to personalize the learning experience. In research studies on rapport, it has been shown that rapport between instructor and student improves student success and retention. LEARNING OBJECTIVES: Explain the importance of rapport-building strategies within assignment feedback. Identify strategies to personalize feedback for student. Describe ways to approach the delivery of positive feedback. Explain the importance of providing resources within feedback
