New BSN Instructor: Discussion in the Online Classroom

OVERVIEW: This training offers effective methodology and pedagogy to create discussion in the online education. Discussion is a powerful learning tool, and it offers us the opportunity to connect with, and learn from, others. A good discussion is one where everyone has the opportunity to have their voice "heard" and where all leave having learned something new. This course will provide guidance on how to teach and engage students through the discussion forum in an online classroom. LEARNING OBJECTIVES: Explain the purpose of discussion in the online classroom Identify the role of faculty in the online classroom discussion forum Identify best practices for encouraging student participation and enhancing learning in the online discussion forum.
